Miss Brittany started dancing at the age of 3 and has not stopped! She spent 15 years training in an award winning studio, winning multiple national titles and overall high score awards. Miss Britt pursued her degree in musical theatre at Florida State University! While performing in shows at FSU, she took her love of tap dance and auditioned for and joined the Seminole Tap Troupe. She trained under world-known choreographers and eventually fell in love with choreography herself. Miss Brittany has choreographed over 75 musicals in the last 10 years. She is the resident choreographer at three high schools in Connecticut, as well as two community theatres. She was awarded a professional choreography award in Pensacola, Florida for her work at a local theatre there. Miss Brittany is also an actor and singer with a resume’ of over 50 shows, where she acted as dance captain for a majority of them. Miss Britt has a passion for performing and teaching. She spent a semester creating a dance program at a middle school in Tallahassee, Florida for those children who had a love for dance and wanted to continue their education after school. That dance program still lives on today! She has spent the past 15 years as a dance teacher and believes that every person who wants to dance should have the opportunity to do so! Miss Britt’s Academy of Dance is her passion project and she couldn’t be more grateful that this is finally happening!

She trained in the Russian Vaganova ballet method with Nutmeg Ballet Company until she was 17, and went off to the University of Oregon to continue her study of modern, contemporary and therapeutic dance and theatre. For the ballet students who are tweens and teens, the focus will be on Vaganova method ballet barre and center work, technique and terminology and strengthening, sprinkling in a bit of imagery and exploration of expression through ballet. At Miss Britt’s, Miss Malie will be teaching various classes from ballet to modern, as well as, leading mindfulness workshops to keep our dancers grounded and free of stress!
